A closed bilateral meeting has just begun between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, and Stéphane Séjourné, France’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions, as confirmed by the official spokesperson of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, are focused on addressing the escalating regional situation and exploring ways to de-escalate tensions and achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
At least 11 Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes on various areas in the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) on Saturday.
In the town of Zawaida, located in central Gaza, 10 people were killed and others wounded as Israeli warplanes targeted tents sheltering displaced families. Local sources told WAFA that Israeli aircraft carried out three strikes near the southern entrance of Zawaida.
In the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City, one person was killed and others injured following an Israeli airstrike on a home.
Additionally, a child was injured by gunfire targeting displaced persons’ tents near the Hamad Residential City in northwest Khan Younis, while several people were wounded in a strike on a house near the European Hospital in eastern Khan Younis.
Israeli warplanes also launched an airstrike on the main Salah al-Din Street, which connects various areas of the Gaza Strip, specifically in the Al-Satar Al-Sharqi area of Khan Younis.
The Israeli army further destroyed residential buildings in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood in western Rafah.
