Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, speaking on Wednesday, revealed that Egypt has formulated a comprehensive roadmap for addressing the Sudanese crisis, encompassing both humanitarian and political dimensions.

During a ministerial meeting focused on Sudan held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Shoukry emphasized Egypt’s keen interest in Sudan, considering it an integral part of Egyptian national security.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that Cairo remains committed to supporting the Sudanese people and others in the country, noting that Egypt has welcomed over 300,000 Sudanese refugees since the outbreak of the conflict.

“We are actively delivering relief aid and humanitarian support from neighboring countries to the interior of Sudan,” he stated, highlighting the need for burden-sharing regarding refugee reception.

Shoukry stressed that neighboring countries should not bear the brunt of the Sudanese crisis alone, calling upon the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and rally support to address the Sudan crisis.

Furthermore, Shoukry affirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for efforts to end the conflict, emphasizing the imperative of defusing the Sudanese crisis, as the security of Khartoum is an integral component of Egyptian national security.

On another note, the Foreign Minister proposed the establishment of warehouses for humanitarian aid in neighboring countries to Sudan. These warehouses would facilitate the efficient distribution of aid to those in need within Sudan.

Egypt’s proactive engagement in resolving the Sudanese crisis underscores its commitment to regional stability and its desire to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people. As the crisis unfolds, Egypt continues to play a pivotal role in advocating for comprehensive solutions on the international stage.
