Hamdi Sanad Loza, the Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, emphasized the importance of preserving Sudan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the cohesion of its national institutions.

This affirmation came during the reception held by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday for the Norwegian envoy to Sudan and South Sudan, John Anton Johnson.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister outlined Egypt’s stance on the Sudanese crisis.

The Foreign Ministry of noted that the Norwegian envoy praised the ongoing coordination between Norway and Egypt, commending Egypt’s role in hosting Sudanese brethren and delivering humanitarian aid.

Both sides agreed on the importance of coordination and integration among various mediation efforts, the necessity of reaching a ceasefire, enhancing response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation, and creating a conducive environment for initiating a comprehensive political process that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people.

Sudan has been facing internal conflicts and political instability for decades, exacerbated by issues related to governance, economic challenges, and social disparities.

The country witnessed a transitional period following the overthrow of former President Omar al-Bashir in April 2019.

However, the transition has been marked by ongoing tensions between the military and civilian factions, as well as continued protests and violence in certain regions.

Egypt, as a neighboring country with historical ties to Sudan, has been actively involved in diplomatic efforts to support stability and peace in Sudan, advocating for dialogue and inclusive political processes to address the country’s challenges.
