Dubai’s ambitions soar as it embarks on a groundbreaking endeavor to construct the world’s largest passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport.
Under the directive of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, plans for the monumental project have been officially approved.
The new terminal, slated to be erected at an estimated cost of AED128 billion (nearly $35 billion), promises to redefine air travel with a staggering capacity to accommodate 260 million passengers annually upon completion.
During a recent visit to the Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by other prominent figures including Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, expressed enthusiasm for the venture.
“This initiative marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s aviation landscape,” Sheikh Mohammed commented. “Al Maktoum International Airport will emerge as a global aviation hub, surpassing Dubai International Airport in scale and efficiency. With 400 aircraft gates and five parallel runways, it will usher in a new era of air travel, integrating cutting-edge technologies to elevate the passenger experience.”
