In a significant move, DP World Sokhna, a subsidiary of the global ports operator DP World based in Dubai, has officially commenced the construction of its $80 million logistics park at the Port of Sokhna.

The groundbreaking ceremony, attended by key dignitaries, including Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Major General Abdel Majeed Sakr, Governor of Suez, and Urs Moll, Regional Director of DP World Group, was conducted as per an official statement from SCZONE.

According to the statement, the initial phase of the $50 million project is slated for completion by the end of 2024. The expansive logistics park, covering an area of 300,000 square meters, is designed to seamlessly integrate with DP World’s existing multipurpose terminal at Ain Sokhna Port. The facility aims to support a wide array of activities, including logistics, trading, distribution, and value-added services.

This ambitious project signifies DP World’s commitment to further enhancing the capabilities of the Port of Sokhna as a strategic hub for regional trade and commerce. With the integration of the logistics park, DP World aims to provide comprehensive solutions to meet the evolving needs of businesses involved in various aspects of the supply chain. The development is expected to contribute significantly to the economic growth and efficiency of the region’s logistics and trade sectors.
