The Danish Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that it would donate a military assistance package valued at 5.8 billion Danish kroner ($833 million) to Ukraine. The package includes tanks, infantry combat vehicles, tank ammunition, and anti-aircraft artillery.
The ministry detailed that the total aid amount would be disbursed over three tranches: 4.3 billion this year, 1.4 billion in 2024, and 52 million in 2025.
Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated in a press release, “After more than a year and a half into the war, our defense inventory is nearly depleted. We are now looking towards joint purchases aimed at addressing specific shortfalls and international collaboration tailored specifically to meet Ukraine’s current needs.”
Furthermore, the Ministry highlighted that this donation represents the 12th and largest aid package Denmark has extended to Ukraine since the commencement of the Russo-Ukrainian war in February 2022.
