The death toll from the Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut has risen to 31, with 68 people reported injured, according to an official statement from Lebanese Health Minister Firas Abiad.

During a press conference, Abiad confirmed that among the deceased are 3 children and 7 women.

The injured victims were transferred to 12 hospitals across Beirut, where they are receiving medical care for their wounds.

The Lebanese National News Agency further reported that this latest airstrike is part of a series of Israeli attacks that have targeted Beirut in recent days.

These include the explosions from pager and radio devices that occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday.

With the casualties from those earlier incidents and the most recent airstrike, the total number of deaths now stands at 70.

The situation in Beirut remains tense as authorities continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes, and hospitals struggle to care for the injured amid the rising toll.
