Czech Minister of Defense Jana Chernokhova announced that her country has issued licenses to supply Ukraine with military equipment valued at approximately 117 billion Czech crowns (€4.7 billion).
Chernokhova further explained, as reported by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform on Tuesday, that since the beginning of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the Czech Republic has transferred military equipment worth 6.2 billion Czech crowns to Ukraine.
This equipment includes fighter helicopters, tanks, and infantry fighting vehicles. Additionally, around four thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been trained within the Czech Republic.
The Czech Minister of Defense also clarified that the Czech Republic continues to issue licenses for the export of military materials to Ukraine, despite reports in late November indicating the depletion of the Czech military’s stocks from warehouses.
She emphasized that thanks to these licenses, the supply of necessary equipment and ammunition to Ukraine continues through private companies and donors.
In addition to these licenses, the Czech government approved a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 22 million Czech crowns in October last year.
