Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Kazan, Russia, to participate in the 16th BRICS Summit from October 22 to 24, according to an announcement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday.

During his visit, Xi will attend the BRICS leaders’ meeting, engage in expert dialogues, and participate in various other activities. He will hold in-depth discussions with fellow leaders about the current global situation, said ministry spokesperson Mao Ning at a regular press briefing.

Mao emphasized China’s readiness to collaborate with all BRICS nations to enhance cooperation within the group, aiming to usher in a new era of unity and self-reliance for the Global South while promoting global peace and development.
