Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed that Ottawa has decided to impose sanctions on four individuals and 29 Russian entities associated with the military, industrial, financial, and nuclear sectors of Russia.
During the Ukrainian forum “Crimea Platform,” Trudeau stated that Canada announced additional sanctions against four individuals and 29 entities in the Russian military, industrial, financial, and nuclear sectors.
Trudeau did not specify the exact entities that will be subjected to the sanctions, with more specific information expected to be released later.
He added that the measures being taken are aimed at persuading Russia to completely withdraw from Ukrainian territory.
It’s worth noting that after the initiation of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, Western pressure on Moscow intensified.
Hundreds of billions of dollars of Russian assets were frozen, and the European Union has already adopted ten rounds of restrictive measures, including bans on coal and oil.
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described these actions as theft and noted that it has been ongoing for over a year.
She pointed out that since 2014, the European Union has taken numerous unjustified and unwarranted decisions to freeze the assets of Russian citizens and companies, now targeting public funds.
