Dover Air Force Base, Delaware (February 3, 2024): President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden attended the dignified transfer ceremony for three US service members killed in a drone attack in Jordan on Sunday.

The ceremony took place at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where the remains of the three soldiers were returned home. The soldiers, identified as Sgt. William Rivers, Sgt. Kennedy Sanders, and Sgt. Breanna Moffett, were killed in an attack on a base near the Syrian border.

Biden and the First Lady met with the families of the fallen soldiers before the ceremony. In a video call with the family of Sgt. Sanders, Biden said, “I know that nothing I can say or do can ease your pain. I’ve been there myself. You’re in my prayers and in my heart.”

The President also spoke about the importance of honoring the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers. “We must never forget the cost of freedom,” he said. “We must never forget the sacrifices that these families have made.”
