Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held discussions with the European Union’s Special Envoy to the Gulf region, Luigi Di Maio, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Monday.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various domains.
The two sides reviewed developments, political challenges, and security concerns in the Middle East region. They deliberated on the implications of these factors on the security, stability, and prosperity of the area.
Both parties also acknowledged the regional and international endeavors aimed at maintaining global peace and stability.
The discussions encompassed the trajectory of collaborative efforts between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union, with an aim to broaden the scope of collaboration.
This expansion seeks to align with the aspirations of both entities and contribute to enhancing and evolving shared cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Moreover, the preparations underway for the upcoming joint GCC-EU ministerial meeting scheduled in Muscat in October were discussed.
