Austria has pledged an additional €3.8 million to support the Ukrainian Grain Initiative, as reported by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.

The Austrian Ministry, in a statement shared on social media platform X, emphasized that “food should never be used as a weapon” and committed the additional funds to the initiative to contribute to global food security.

The ministry also paid tribute to the victims of the Holodomor, the man-made famine that claimed the lives of millions of Ukrainians 90 years ago.

This contribution builds on Austria’s previous support for the Ukrainian Grain Initiative. Last year, Austria contributed €3.8 million to facilitate the delivery of Ukrainian grain to those in need in Ethiopia and Sudan.

This continued support underscores Austria’s commitment to addressing global food security challenges and providing humanitarian aid.
