Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoomi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, affirmed the ongoing efforts of the Arab Parliament to support the Palestinian cause in international forums, considering it the foremost and central issue for the Arab world. He emphasized the Parliament’s continuous efforts with regional and international parliaments and parliamentary unions to stop the genocide being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.
This statement was made during Al-Asoomi’s meeting today, Saturday, with Palestinian Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mona Al-Khalili, at the Arab Parliament’s General Secretariat headquarters in Cairo.
Al-Asoomi reiterated the Arab Parliament’s support and solidarity with the Palestinian cause and people in their quest to attain their legitimate rights as per international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
In her turn, the Palestinian Minister of Women’s Affairs updated the Arab Parliament Speaker on the latest developments in Palestine and the conditions of Palestinian women, particularly those in Gaza who are enduring severe torture and violence amid the ongoing genocide that has been taking place for the past nine months.
Minister Mona Al-Khalili appreciated the significant efforts and role of the Arab Parliament in supporting Palestine at all Arab, regional, and international levels, and its substantial role in bolstering official diplomacy in this regard.
