The Arab League has issued an invitation to Mohamed al-Menfi, the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Aguila Saleh, the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, and Mohamed Takala, the Head of the Libyan High Council of State, for a series of dialogues at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
This initiative, according to a statement from the Arab League, is part of the organization’s concerted efforts to reconcile differences among Libyan factions and promote intra-Libyan dialogue.
Jamal Rushdy, the spokesperson for the Secretary-General, emphasized that this invitation underscores the Arab League’s commitment to Libya, recognizing the nation’s critical state at this juncture.
He elaborated that the dialogue sessions are aimed at facilitating Libya’s emergence from its prolonged crisis, which has significantly impacted its citizens.
The Libyan people are now looking towards their political leaders to transcend this dire situation by sidelining narrow interests and prioritizing the nation’s greater good above all else.
