Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday, the Algerian presidency said.

The letter, which was delivered by Palestinian Authority Secretary-General Jibril Rajoub, addressed the current situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

Rajoub expressed the Palestinian people’s “deep gratitude and appreciation” to Tebboune and the Algerian people for their “steadfast and principled support” of the Palestinian cause. He also praised Tebboune’s “strategic vision” and his efforts to achieve Palestinian national reconciliation, which he said is the only way to confront Israeli occupation and its aggression against the Palestinians.

Tebboune has been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause and has repeatedly called for an end to the Israeli occupation. He has also hosted several high-level Palestinian delegations in recent months, including Abbas himself.
