In a strategic move set to bolster the trade ties across Africa, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has issued an order to open new air routes connecting Algeria with all African capitals. This significant decision, announced on a Tuesday, manifests Algeria’s robust commitment towards enhancing its connectivity and cooperation with African nations.

Additionally, President Tebboune called for the establishment of free trade zones with Mauritania, Mali, and Niger, particularly for agricultural goods, further reflecting the country’s intent to strengthen regional economic cooperation.

President Tebboune made these declarations at the inaugural edition of the “Honorary Export Badge” held at the International Conference Centre Abdelatif Rahal in the capital. Operating under the motto “Commitment, Achievements, and Prospects,” the event aims to honor the best exporters over the last three years and introduce Algeria’s new export-boosting policy outside hydrocarbons.

The opening ceremony was graced by top state officials, government members, representatives of professional associations, and executives from public and private institutions, illustrating the high-level commitment to these initiatives.

As Algeria expands its air connectivity with African capitals and promotes free trade areas, the country is poised to create a favorable environment for business growth, export diversification, and stronger international relationships, significantly benefiting the African continent’s economic landscape.
