Algeria has formally announced its accession to the International Convention for safe Containers, in addition to ratifying an agreement to host the headquarters of the Gas Research Institute for the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
As reported in today’s issue of the Algerian Official Gazette, Algeria became a signatory to the International Convention for the Safety of Containers, adopted in Geneva on December 2, 1972.
This convention mandates all signatory parties to ensure the safety of human lives during container handling and transportation, while also facilitating international container transport.
Furthermore, the Official Gazette highlighted the presidential decree dated July 31st of the previous year.
This decree signifies Algeria’s ratification of the agreement between the Algerian government and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum regarding the hosting of the Gas Research Institute’s headquarters for the GECF.
The agreement was signed in the Algerian capital on January 26, 2023.
Notably, the Algerian government entered into an agreement with the Gas Exporting Countries Forum last January, solidifying its commitment to host the research institute’s headquarters in the capital city of Algeria.
