On Sunday, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Teboune engaged in one-on-one bilateral discussions with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
Teboune welcomed his Iranian counterpart with an official reception at the Presidential Palace in Algeria.
The two leaders listened to the national anthems of their respective countries before reviewing a military honor guard from various units of the Algerian People’s National Army.
Earlier in the day, President Raisi paid tribute to the martyrs of the glorious Algerian War of Independence at the Martyrs’ Memorial.
Raisi’s visit to Algeria comes after he participated in the 7th Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, marking a significant occasion for official discussions between the two nations.
Algeria, a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, backs the Palestinian cause and has called several times for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
