Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Expatriate Community, Ahmed Attaf, has once again issued a call for the United Nations (UN) to grant full membership status to Palestine.
In his speech, Attaf criticized the UN Security Council for its inability to provide the necessary protection to the Palestinian people, stating that the Palestinian community continues to pay a steep price for their enduring cause and unwavering national project.
“Over the past seven decades, the Security Council’s negligence towards the Palestinian issue has become all too familiar. The unbridled empowerment and fortification of the Israeli occupier has led to the commission of heinous crimes.”
“The Palestinian people are fed up with the double standards and the complete tolerance shown towards the occupation. They are suffering from the international community’s indifference to their oppression,” Attaf declared.
He further noted that an entire generation of Palestinians has grown up without witnessing a single initiative to revive the peace process in the region. Attaf emphasized that the rights of the Palestinian people are inalienable and not subject to expiration.
This renewed call from Algeria for full UN membership for Palestine underscores the country’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and highlights the urgent need for international attention and action.
The statement from Minister Ahmed Attaf is a powerful reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by the Palestinian people and the necessity of a united global effort to address this pressing issue.
With this news piece, we aim to reach a broad audience and increase awareness about the Palestinian cause, drawing attention to Algeria’s role in advocating for their rights.
