Sudanese military airstrikes killed dozens of army officers and soldiers in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, according to sources.
The Sudanese army conducted three airstrikes on military sites in the city, though it remains unclear whether the sites were under army or Rapid Support Forces (RSF) control.
Media outlets affiliated with both the army and RSF reported the deaths of numerous officers and soldiers in strikes targeting army headquarters and other locations in El Fasher. While the Sudanese army has not issued an official statement, military media platforms confirmed that two airstrikes hit an ammunition depot near army headquarters and a military site within the headquarters.
RSF-affiliated media also reported that one of the strikes targeted soldiers from an allied militia attempting to withdraw from the city, which has seen intense fighting. Some reports estimate that over 170 people, including high-ranking officers, were killed in the strikes.
