Abu Dhabi continues its extensive preparations to host the eighth edition of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship for adults, youth, and juniors. The championship is set to take place from May 3-8 at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.
Abu Dhabi is renowned for hosting some of the most successful and prestigious jiu-jitsu championships globally, attracting top athletes and fans from around the world.
This event is organized by the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.
Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, the head of events and activities at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized that Abu Dhabi has become synonymous with excellence in organizing sports events to the highest international standards.
The federation has ensured all necessary arrangements are in place to host a championship befitting Abu Dhabi’s status as the global capital of jiu-jitsu.
The preparations are in full swing, with coordination among various partners including Abu Dhabi Police, and the airports of Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, along with the Department of Culture and Tourism.
These preparations include welcoming guests at the airports and showcasing Emirati hospitality.
Al Zaabi noted that about 300 volunteers would assist in greeting guests at the airports, guiding them to their hotels, and providing around-the-clock information about the championship.
Volunteer teams will also help manage the crowd flow in the stands and coordinate bus services between the hotels and the venue.
The organizing committee has also arranged specific training areas for the participating teams before the competitions start, comprehensive medical services including a full-service clinic and ambulance availability, and secured taxi services at the event site.
Coordination with the Abu Dhabi Police Events Committee ensures the highest standards of security and safety.
In collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation is also organizing a range of accompanying events, including an entertainment area and various cultural activities.
