Snapchat is gearing up to delve deeper into generative AI functionalities, following the success of its AI-integrated chatbot, My AI, which now replies with a Snap instead of just text.
The upcoming AI feature titled “Dreams” will explore AI-rendered images, potentially showcasing users and their friends in creative backdrops.
Insights from app expert Steve Moser reveal that Snapchat has been crafting tools enabling users to capture or upload selfies, which the app will then use to create fresh images, placing users in imagined settings.
This approach mirrors offerings by other AI photo apps, like Remini, which recently gained popularity among TikTok users for producing high-quality LinkedIn headshots from selfies.
However, Snapchat’s “Dreams” is set to offer a more imaginative twist, embedding users in whimsical environments, as highlighted by Moser’s research.
For optimal AI images, Snapchat emphasizes the importance of clear, unobstructed selfies and advises users to provide multiple angles and lighting conditions.
Alongside individual “Dream” images, Snapchat is also working on “Dreams with Friends,” where users can authorize friends to create combined AI “Dream” snapshots, as unveiled by Moser.
