China and Jordan discussed on Monday details of a project to establish a center for maintaining electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as a center for mobile device maintenance at the University of Jordan. This is in addition to attracting Chinese students to study the Arabic language at the university.
The news agency “Ammon” reported that the discussion on the Chinese project took place during a meeting between Nader Abidat, the President of the University of Jordan, and a Chinese delegation from the Committee for Young Entrepreneurship Management between China and Arab countries. The meeting explored ways to enhance cooperation and exchange anticipated scientific and practical expertise between the two parties.
The agency pointed out that this meeting is a follow-up to what was included in the memorandum of understanding jointly signed by both parties last May, which addressed several medical, agricultural, and engineering aspects.
During today’s meeting, the Chinese delegation visited the University of Jordan Hospital and met with its director and deputies. They expressed interest in collaborating in the field of prosthetic manufacturing.
It is worth noting that the agreement signed between China and Jordan aims to transfer Chinese technology and its smart applications to Jordan in several fields. In addition to cooperation in medical education and the design of joint academic and professional programs, the agreement also includes the Chinese side establishing several labs for artificial intelligence and electric vehicle maintenance. This will be in collaboration with Chinese car manufacturing companies and another center dedicated to smartphone maintenance.
