12 Killed & 19 Injured In Bus Accident in Turkey

A bus accident in the province of Yozgat in central Turkey took place late Sunday, killing 12 people and leaving 19 others injured.

The victims were taken by ambulance to the state hospital of Sorgun, while an investigation into the accident was underway.

Yozgat Governor Mehmet Ali Özkan said: “Unfortunately, we are dealing with a tragic accident. According to the first information, our bus belonging to a company that was going from Sivas to Istanbul ped to the opposite lane of the road from the opposite direction and rolled into a stockade.”

The governor added: “We have been able to remove our citizens who lost their lives and died from the scene. We think it was an accident caused by carelessness.”

He also affirmed that the situation will become clear in subsequent investigations.
