Sudan’s armed forces have engaged in fierce clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in central Omdourman.

The conflict aims to sever the RSF’s access to the area they control.

The situation in Sudan remains tense, with ongoing conflict between the national army and a rival military faction since April.

Explosions and columns of smoke have been observed in central and southern neighborhoods of Khartoum due to the exchange of artillery fire between the two groups.

Simultaneously, the RSF has launched ground-to-air missiles against Sudanese army drones in the eastern and southern parts of the capital city, Khartoum. The city has been rocked by intense explosions since the early hours.

According to reports, the Sudanese army employed drones to target Rapid Support sites near the presidential palace in central Khartoum.
