The Norwegian Government has granted Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace a contract to supply Ukraine with an advanced anti-drone system. Valued at NOK 740 million (approximately $71 million), this decision comes in response to the significant threat of Russian drone strikes in Ukraine.

This vital defense equipment’s financing is sourced from the British-led International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), with Norway being a significant donor.

Highlighting the collaboration between the Norwegian military and the commercial sector, Norway’s Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram remarked, “This is a testament to the effective partnership between our military and the industrial sector. Their collective innovative thinking will undoubtedly protect Ukrainian citizens and support Ukraine against Russia’s severe acts of hostility.”

The Cortex Typhon C-UAS, the state-of-the-art anti-drone system, integrates components from Teledyne Flir, Kongsberg, and armored vehicles. In addition to this, the Norwegian Armed Forces have contributed Dingo vehicles, machine guns, and ammo for the system, as stated by the Norwegian Government.
