Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi convened on Monday to discuss the strong bilateral relations between their countries and the evolving regional landscape, with a primary focus on the Palestinian issue.

During their bilateral meeting followed by an extended session held in the Egyptian city of Alamein, the two leaders expressed their appreciation for the exceptional level of relations between their brotherly nations.

They highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation opportunities, both bilaterally and within the trilateral framework involving Iraq, particularly in the economic and trade spheres.

King Abdullah II and el-Sisi emphasized the necessity of progressing with the implementation of the outcomes of the recent meetings of the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee held in Amman.

The efforts of Egypt and el-Sisi in hosting the Jordanian-Egyptian-Palestinian trilateral summit were also commended by King Abdullah II.

The Jordanian monarch reiterated the commitment to providing unwavering support to their Palestinian brethren in securing their just and legitimate rights.

He stressed the ongoing efforts to break the stalemate in the peace process and achieve a comprehensive and equitable solution based on the two-state solution.

The leaders underlined the importance of continued consultation and coordination on various matters of mutual interest. Such collaboration is aimed at advancing the interests of both nations and their people, while also serving the broader Arab causes.

The meeting was attended by Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty the King Dr. Jafar Hassan, Director of General Intelligence Major General Ahmed Husseini, Jordan’s Ambassador to Cairo Amjad Al-Adaileh, and several senior Egyptian officials.
