On Tuesday, Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, revealed details of a recent meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during which they discussed the nation’s health status and the progress of health initiatives in the country.
In a televised statement, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar commended President Sisi’s supportive stance, emphasizing that the President has consistently approved beneficial health proposals put forth to enhance the well-being of Egyptian citizens.
The Minister also referred to the 10-year health plan proposed by the Ministry, which was recently presented to President Sisi. This forward-looking plan includes numerous initiatives designed to cater to future generations, ranging from the establishment of new hospitals to the upgrade and modernization of existing ones.
Recognizing the continuous increase in the average life expectancy in Egypt, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar underlined the importance of diverse state-executed projects worth billions.
Significantly, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar announced that President Sisi had approved the construction of a new medical city. This medical city, costing up to EGP 25 billion, will include specialized departments for diabetes, kidney, liver, and heart diseases, spanning an area of 120 acres. This major project signifies Egypt’s sustained commitment to advancing its healthcare sector.
