UAE Official Discusses "AI" Development with Elon Musk

Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Governor of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, met with Elon Musk today to discuss developments in advanced technology and artificial intelligence (AI), and to explore ways to enhance cooperation.

The discussion with Musk was highlighted on the ‘X’ platform by Sheikh Tahnoon, who emphasized the shared ambition, constructive engagement, and aligned vision with global leaders.

Sheikh Tahnoon expressed, “Today, we discussed with Elon Musk the latest developments in advanced technology and AI and ways to enhance our cooperation.”

“Our shared ambition and vision with global leaders facilitate optimal utilization of energy, offer unique opportunities provided by modern technologies, and solutions that accelerate adoption to revolutionize the quality of life and human well-being.”

The UAE and the US have unveiled a new framework for cooperation in the field of AI. This announcement was made in Washington D.C. in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, during his first visit to Washington since assuming his position.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, and Jake Sullivan, U.S. National Security Advisor.

According to the UAE’s official news agency, WAM, the framework highlights both countries’ mutual desire to deepen cooperation in AI and related technologies and their commitment to developing a memorandum of understanding between the two governments regarding AI.

The framework recognizes the immense potential of AI to accelerate economic growth, transform education and healthcare, create job opportunities, promote environmental sustainability, and more.
