The Israeli military has continued its bombardment of various areas in the Gaza Strip, targeting a three-story house and a shelter school. On Sunday, Gaza’s Civil Defense reported that an Israeli airstrike hit a house in Gaza City, killing 11 members of the same family. Mahmoud Basal, a spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, stated: “We recovered 11 martyrs, including four children and three women, and several others were injured after an Israeli warplane struck a three-story house without prior warning, belonging to the Al-Bustan family.”

According to Basal, the airstrike occurred around 1 a.m., with the house serving as shelter for multiple displaced families. The building is located near Al-Shuja’iya School in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City.

The Israeli army confirmed that its forces conducted an overnight airstrike in the area. In a statement, the military said it targeted a Hamas cell commander in the Daraj and Tuffah areas, claiming that the individual was involved in planning and executing attacks against Israeli forces.

Basal also reported similar Israeli airstrikes in other parts of Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of at least 11 people. Five people were killed in northwestern Gaza City when an airstrike hit a group of displaced civilians at Al-Arqam School in Gaza City. The Israeli military, however, claimed it was targeting Hamas militants.

### Second School Targeted

Thousands of Palestinians displaced by the ongoing war, now in its 12th month, have taken refuge in Al-Zaytoun Martyrs School, Basal said. “We recovered five martyrs, including two children and a woman, from beneath the rubble after Israeli warplanes struck the Al-Zaytoun Martyrs School in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City with two missiles,” Basal added. These claims could not be independently verified by AFP.

Three more people were killed in an airstrike on the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians have sought shelter.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported a sharp rise in casualties from the Israeli bombardment, with 41,182 people killed and more than 95,280 injured since October 7.

In a statement, the ministry said: “The Israeli occupation has committed four massacres against families in Gaza, with 64 martyrs and 155 injured arriving at hospitals over the past 48 hours.” The statement also noted that on the 344th day of the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza, many victims remain trapped under rubble and on streets, with emergency and civil defense teams unable to reach them.
