The Sudanese Doctors Network has revealed that 356 medical facilities in Sennar State have been forced out of service due to attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
According to the network, these facilities, including a government hospital, seven private centers, 99 health centers, and 230 health units, were looted and destroyed by the RSF.
Before the RSF’s incursion into the state, there were 450 operational medical and health facilities in Sennar.
Currently, only 94 remain functional, leaving a vast majority out of service. The network’s statement highlighted the dire consequences of the destruction and looting carried out by the RSF as they entered towns and villages in Sennar State.
The disruption of medical services poses a significant threat to the well-being of local residents and has led to a deterioration in health conditions and a surge in diseases.
The Sudanese Doctors Network is urgently calling for intervention to rescue the patients and civilians in conflict-affected areas, stressing the critical need to restore healthcare services amidst escalating health crises.
The Sudanese Air Force executed targeted airstrikes on Wednesday morning against the RSF positions in western and southern Khartoum.
Local resistance committees in Abu Quta, Gezira State, reported that the RSF had looted livestock in over 50 villages within a week.
The platform “Nidaa Al-Wasat” indicated that these actions are part of a systematic appropriation of animal resources by the RSF across various states, posing severe threats to the livelihoods of the local populations primarily dependent on these resources.
