Trump Relatives’ X Accounts Hacked in Crypto Scam

U.S. former President and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump (L) stands with Co-chair of the Republican National Committee Lara Trump (R), (from top L) daughter Ivanka Trump, daughter Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos, during the last day of the 2024 Republican National Convention.

On Tuesday, social media profiles of Trump family members, including Lara and Tiffany Trump, were hacked to promote a fake cryptocurrency project.

The posts on X, formerly Twitter, were related to a digital-asset initiative called “World Liberty Financial.” Eric Trump confirmed the posts were part of a scam, and X locked down the affected accounts “within minutes.”

The now-deleted post on Lara Trump’s account falsely claimed the project aimed to take power away from traditional banks and give control to the people.

The post linked to a fake website promoting a governance token called $WL on the Solana blockchain.

The Trump campaign has not yet commented on the incident, and the World Liberty Financial X page has warned against clicking on any links or purchasing tokens from the hacked profiles.
