The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Sunday that its forces successfully destroyed a drone and a remotely controlled boat operated by the Houthi rebels in Yemen. The statement, broadcasted by Alhurra, an American news channel, highlighted the action taken within the last 24 hours.

CENTCOM reported that both the unmanned aerial vehicle and the boat were located in a Houthi-controlled area in Yemen and were deemed “a clear and imminent threat to US forces, allied forces, and commercial shipping in the region.”

The operations are part of ongoing efforts to maintain security and stability in strategic maritime corridors and to protect international navigation routes against potential threats posed by the Houthi insurgents, who continue to control significant parts of Yemen amidst the ongoing conflict.
