The European Union has called for the lifting of the state of force majeure on Libyan oil fields and for the protection of Central Bank employees and members of the State Council in Libya.

The European Union Delegation and the diplomatic missions of EU member states in Libya expressed deep concern about the deteriorating situation in the country, emphasizing the importance of lifting the state of force majeure on all oil fields.

The missions highlighted that the closure of oil fields exacerbates the fragile economic situation and threatens the economic lifelines of the Libyan people.

They also called for the protection of Central Bank of Libya employees, urging that they not be subjected to intimidation or threats, noting that the closure of the bank and the disruption of banking services contribute to the worsening economic situation and increase the burden on citizens.

Regarding the members of the High Council of State, the missions stressed the importance of respecting the independence of the council’s work and avoiding any attempts to threaten its members, emphasizing the need to strengthen dialogue and cooperation among all parties to ensure Libya’s stability and to make progress towards a comprehensive political solution.
