On Thursday, the Sudanese government voiced its approval of the outcome of Sudan’s Neighboring Countries Summit that convened earlier today in Cairo.

In extending its gratitude, Sudan’s government hailed Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for inviting and hosting this crucial summit, aimed at fostering stability and security throughout Sudan.

Sudan also extended its thanks to the neighboring countries that have demonstrated supportive stances towards Sudan’s security, stability, unity, territorial integrity, and their assistance to the Sudanese populace during these testing times.

According to a Sudanese government statement, “We are also grateful to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous efforts through the Jeddah platform, as well as the United States, in supporting a cessation of hostilities, and ending the suffering of the Sudanese.”

Sudan’s government emphasized its commitment to work with all parties eager to halt the war and restore peace and tranquility. It also stated that the Sudanese Armed Forces are ready to immediately stop all military operations if the Rapid Support Forces agree to cease attacks on homes, neighborhoods, civilian properties, government facilities, and acts of plundering.

This commitment includes initiating a political dialogue as soon as the hostilities cease, leading to the establishment of a civilian-led government to guide the nation through a transitional period, culminating in elections that include all Sudanese.
