Saudi Arabia Records 4.7 Magnitude Earthquake in Red Sea

Seismic monitoring stations recorded a 4.7-magnitude earthquake in the Red Sea, 161 km west of Al Lith Governorate, Makkah region, at a depth of 10.4 km, at 12:09 am on Saturday, according to the Saudi Geological Survey.

Two earthquakes hit the Red Sea region on Saturday, affecting areas near the coasts of Saudi Arabia and Sudan, reported the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.7, struck approximately 197 km northeast of Tokar city, Sudan.

A second, smaller quake, measuring 4.2 in magnitude, was recorded about 174 km northeast of Tokar city.
