On Tuesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated that the July Revolution cemented Egypt’s active role in its Arab and African surroundings and its significant contribution to defending the interests of Southern Hemisphere countries across all continents.

During his speech on the 72nd anniversary of the July 23 Revolution, President El-Sisi emphasized that the revolution inspired global populations towards national liberation, teaching never to compromise on national independence, the dignity of the nation and its citizens, and striving for maximum social justice.

In his address, he noted, “The great Egyptian people take the anniversary of the revolution as an opportunity to ponder the lessons of history, learning from past victories and defeats,” highlighting that his country has maintained its active and leadership role in various international forums.

President El-Sisi continued: “Egypt has kept pace with the changes of time, opened up to the world, and struggled to improve its economic, investment, urban, and industrial capabilities. It has integrated into the global trade system, focusing as much as possible on protecting the national economy.”

He asserted that Egypt has sought to work through comprehensive and effective systems to provide necessary social protection, in addition to preserving its land, sovereignty, independence, and establishing peace based on justice and land reclamation.

El-Sisi spoke firmly about his country’s unwavering commitment to the rights and interests of its brethren, particularly the Palestinians, and protecting their just cause from elimination. He stated that Egypt has worked intensively to support their legitimate right to an independent, sovereign state.

The Egyptian President pointed out that the current regional and international realities impose new challenges and complex situations, as the international system suffers from increasing tensions and geopolitical confrontations.

“The regional environment is plagued by the spread of wars, conflicts, civil strife, the fragmentation of some states, and the collapse of their institutions.

The unprecedented conditions in our regional environment impose tremendous burdens on Egypt, alleviated only by the strength and resilience of our people in the face of adversity,” he added.

President El-Sisi expressed confidence that Egypt, with the cohesion of its people, would navigate through this turbulent regional and international phase, continuing its progress and development journey to meet all our aspirations.
