Violent clashes with heavy weapons erupted between the “Rahba Al-Durou’ Battalion” and the “Sabriya Al-Rathimi Battalion” in the Tajoura area east of the Libyan capital, resulting in the death of a Libyan woman.

According to local Libyan media, the ousted Mufti Sadiq Al-Ghariani is accused of “fanning the flames of discord” among the armed militias.

The area of the clashes saw a heavy deployment of armed elements following renewed disputes between the “Rahba Al-Durou’ Battalion,” also known as the “Al-Baqara Battalion” due to its leader Bashir Al-Baqara, and the “Sabriya Al-Rathimi Battalion,” causing panic and anxiety among the city’s residents.

While Tajoura is in a state of high tension, the area of Ajaylat was not far from the clashes, where similar security tensions were observed between the elements of the First Support Force led by Mohamed Bahroun, nicknamed “Al-Far,” and the elements of “Battalion 103” led by Osman Al-Lahab.

The Ambulance and Emergency Service called for an “immediate ceasefire,” holding “all conflicting parties responsible for the safety of lives,” confirming that “the service received distress calls from the Marghna area,” and demanding “safe passages for trapped families.”
