Iraqi Airways has set July 16th as the date to resume its flights between Baghdad and Moscow, according to Russia Today. The General Director of Iraqi Airways, Manaf Abdul-Munim, announced the resumption of direct flights between Iraq and Russia after a recent suspension, with the first direct flight scheduled for the 16th of this month.

Abdul-Munim explained that the reactivation of the direct flight route between Baghdad and Moscow aligns with the directives of the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhibis Al-Sadaawi, as it serves as a vital transportation line benefiting the Iraqi community residing in Russia.

He added that the number of flights has been set at two per week on Saturdays and Tuesdays as an initial phase, with the possibility of scheduling additional flights after assessing the demand for this sector.

On Sunday, Iraqi Airways announced the resumption of direct flights between Baghdad and Beijing after several years of suspension. The first flight between the two countries departed from Baghdad International Airport to Beijing Daxing International Airport on Saturday afternoon, according to a statement on their social media platforms.

Iraqi Airways also announced that the latest aircraft have been allocated for the “Baghdad-Beijing” route, specifically the “Dreamliner” model, known for its high travel luxury and long-distance capabilities.

In April 2023, regular flights between Saudi Arabia and Iraq resumed. This was part of efforts by the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council to enhance economic and investment relations and facilitate the movement of travelers, tourists, and pilgrims. Flynas started operating direct flights between Jeddah and Erbil twice a week.
