Ukrainian authorities reported that 11 people were killed in Russian airstrikes on a city in southern Ukraine and villages in the Donetsk region on Saturday.
These strikes followed Ukrainian forces’ retreat in the field and multiple attacks by Moscow in recent weeks.
In response to these strikes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged Western allies to accelerate the delivery of necessary weapons to Kyiv.
Zelensky emphasized the need to expedite decisions, stressing that any delay in addressing the conflict would result in loss of human lives.
He called for swift delivery of weapons to counter Russian missile launchers.
Ivan Fedorov, governor of Zaporizhzhia region in the south, reported that a strike on the city of Velyka Novosilka killed seven civilians.
Fedorov shared on social media that Russian forces targeted Velyka Novosilka, resulting in casualties and significant damage to infrastructure.
Velyka Novosilka is located 29 kilometers northeast of Zaporizhzhia city.
Earlier, Ukrainian officials confirmed attacks on border villages in Donetsk region that killed four people.
Vadym Filashkin, governor of Donetsk region, stated on social media that three people were killed in Zaryshchenske village by Russian forces.
Later, Ukraine’s prosecutor general announced that a resident of Novyi York, a frontline town, had been fatally wounded.
Novyi York has faced heavy bombardment since mid-June as Russian forces advance towards Toretsk.
Ukrainian police found the body of a 76-year-old woman killed in a missile attack on Dnipro city on Friday, with 13 others injured.
Police reported an increase in injuries from the attack to 13.
