French Justice Minister Éric Dupond-Moretti, speaking in the Moroccan capital of Rabat on Friday, emphasized that the judicial and legal sectors are the embodiment of a “shared destiny” between France and Morocco, highlighting the strong, active, and reciprocal solidarity between the two countries in this field.

In a press statement following the signing of a technical cooperation action plan between Morocco and France, Moretti explained that both countries are undergoing a digital transformation aimed at making access to justice easier, faster, more protective, and more effective.

He added that the shared destiny linking Morocco and France is particularly based on the convergence of their legal and judicial systems.

Regarding the technical cooperation action plan, Moretti said that both sides aim to achieve a range of objectives, including modernizing justice, enhancing its effectiveness, digitizing procedures, and improving the administrative structure of courts.

The French minister noted that soon there will be efforts to exchange expertise on concrete topics, including dematerializing civil and criminal procedures, the tools available to judges, judicial structures, and opportunities for litigants to access justice and track their cases online.

He stated that these discussions will also focus on training court officials and combating violence against women and within families.
