The Russian Embassy in Libya has announced the resumption of its consular services in Tripoli, starting from June 1st.

According to a statement released on the embassy’s Telegram channel, the consular section will be operational at the following address: Tripoli, Al-Fath Street, Radisson Blu Al Mahary Hotel, Tajoura Hall.

The consular section will be open from Monday to Thursday, 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM, serving both Russian and foreign citizens.

On Fridays, the office will be open from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM exclusively for Russian citizens. Document submissions related to citizenship matters will be accepted on Fridays only.

This move marks a significant step in re-establishing diplomatic and consular activities in Libya, reflecting improved stability and bilateral relations.

The resumption of services will facilitate various consular needs of citizens and enhance diplomatic engagement between Russia and Libya.

Libya has been in a state of turmoil since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011, leading to prolonged civil conflict and political instability.

The country has been divided between rival administrations in the east and west, each backed by different militias and foreign powers.

The United Nations has been working towards fostering dialogue and reconciliation among Libyan factions to stabilize the country.

In recent years, there have been significant efforts to rebuild and stabilize Libya, leading to a fragile peace process.

This has allowed for the gradual return of diplomatic missions and consular services, which were previously suspended due to security concerns.
