Today in Paris, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné, reaffirmed their countries’ continued cooperation and coordination in efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid throughout the region.

During a meeting, the ministers discussed the situation in the West Bank and condemned unilateral Israeli actions, which Safadi stated undermine all chances of achieving a just peace based on a two-state solution. Safadi highlighted the grave risk posed by Israel’s ongoing aggression in Rafah and the severe deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza due to the halted entry and distribution of aid. He emphasized the need for the international community to take a definitive stance on opening all crossings for aid delivery and enabling UN organizations to perform their duties effectively.

Both Safadi and Séjourné stressed the importance of reviving a genuine political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.

Safadi appreciated France’s support for the ceasefire in Gaza and its favorable vote at the United Nations General Assembly for the full membership of Palestine in the UN, along with its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in besieged Gaza.

For his part, Séjourné commended the efforts led by King Abdullah II of Jordan in halting the conflict, ensuring civilian protection, and facilitating aid delivery to Gaza, contributing to security, stability, and peace in the region.

The ministers also discussed bilateral relations and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing broader cooperation across all sectors as directed by the leadership of their respective nations.
