In a significant announcement during the FIFA Congress in Bangkok, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) revealed that Brazil will host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2027.
Brazil won the bid against a joint proposal from Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, securing 119 votes to their competitors’ 78.
President of the Brazilian Football Confederation Ednaldo Rodrigues expressed deep emotion over this victory, acknowledging the difficulty of the bid process.
He emphasized that this triumph is a major achievement for South American football and women’s football in Latin America.
Rodrigues also conveyed confidence and humility, asserting that Brazil will organize the best edition of the Women’s World Cup in 2027.
Brazil’s bid includes plans to utilize ten stadiums that were previously used for the 2014 Men’s World Cup, with the legendary Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro proposed to host both the opening and final matches.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup is a prestigious international football tournament held every four years, featuring the senior women’s national teams from around the world.
