Mounir Ben Rjiba, the State Secretary at the Foreign Ministry, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, has affirmed his country’s commitment to its partnership with Germany and the European Union based on mutual respect, aiming to foster a new dynamic in bilateral relations.
The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release yesterday that this affirmation came during a meeting between Ben Rjiba, in Berlin with his German counterpart, Thomas Bağer.
The two officials welcomed the fruitful cooperation between the two countries, characterized by its density and diversity.
They agreed to intensify high-level visits to enhance political dialogue, giving new impetus to the partnership between the two countries in a regional and international context marked by geopolitical disturbances, and exchanging views on key regional and international issues of common interest.
Ben Rjiba eiterated Tunisia’s steadfast and principled support for the just Palestinian cause, by once again calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza and an end to the genocide committed by the Israeli occupying entity against Palestinian civilians, as well as allowing humanitarian aid to reach without conditions or obstacles.
In turn, Thomas Bağer, the State Minister at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized his country’s strategic interest in its relations with Tunisia, as part of a mutually beneficial partnership looking towards the future.
