Sudanese Cities Targeted in Military Airstrikes

Sudanese military aircraft conducted airstrikes on the cities of Al-Rahad and Um Rawaba in North Kordofan state, central Sudan, according to sources. The airstrikes targeted positions of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which had dispersed to various areas within the cities.

Witnesses reported that the indiscriminate shelling resulted in the injury of a child in Al-Rahad, who was promptly transported to the city’s hospital for treatment. The airstrikes also caused damage to several residential homes in both cities.

As a result of the bombings, all markets and commercial establishments in Al-Rahad and Um Rawaba were closed, with residents expressing fear and panic amid the ongoing attacks.

Last year, in July and August, RSF forces declared their control over Al-Rahad and Um Rawaba, located approximately 30 kilometers and 301 kilometers away from the state capital of El Obeid and the capital city Khartoum, respectively.

The recent escalation in violence underscores the volatile situation in Sudan, with concerns growing over the impact on civilian populations caught in the crossfire.
