A recent United Nations report highlights that 30% of displacement camps in Yemen are at risk of flooding, prompting criticism from a government official regarding the performance of relief organizations.

The official lamented that, even after eight years, discussions are still focused on the risks to these camps rather than implementing solutions and remedies. This situation is seen as evidence of the ineffectiveness of the relief efforts.

The head of the Executive Unit for the Displaced in Yemen (EXUIDPS), Najib Al-Saadi, expressed his disappointment over the persistent threat of floods and rains to the camps, which should have been effectively addressed and resolved in previous years.

In statemnets, he noted this as a failure of international organizations leading humanitarian efforts and reiterated the need for radical solutions to displacement issues, including transitioning to permanent solutions.

The Yemeni official urged the international community to support government institutions in fulfilling their roles, with organizations assisting based on state-defined priorities. He also called for increased funding, noting a significant reduction in financial support this year.
