The Acting Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energies in the Libyan government, Awad Al-Badri, held a meeting on Thursday with the CEO of the German company “Frenel,” specialized in solar power stations.
According to the government’s media office, the meeting reviewed the Libyan government’s plans and programs to localize 3000 megawatts of solar energy for the development of the sector.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Libyan Electricity Holding Company, Abdul Salam Al-Aribi, and the head of the National Program Committee for Solar Energy Localization, Salem Al-Marimi, along with several officials from the electricity company.
During the meeting, the CEO of “Frenel” presented a visual presentation of the company’s work, capabilities, and the latest technologies it has developed.
The company expressed its determination to work with the Ministry of Electricity and the possibility of establishing factories in Libyan cities, especially those equipped with solar energy equipment. They commended the ministry’s efforts to localize 3000 megawatts of solar energy.
