Jasim Al-Badiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has warned that the ongoing wars in the region are leading to a perilous turning point, dark future, and catastrophic consequences.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Regional Security and Cooperation Forum between the GCC states and the European Union held in Luxembourg on Monday, Al-Badiwi emphasized the need to stand with the Palestinian people in Gaza and its surroundings.
He urged Israel to cease fire and halt military operations, and to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza without delay. Additionally, he called on the international community to take necessary actions against Israel in response to the collective punishments imposed on Palestinians.
Al-Badiwi noted that the situation in the region has taken a dangerous turn for the peoples of the area, stressing the importance of all parties exercising restraint.
These remarks were made during Al-Badiwi’s participation in the high-level forum on regional security and cooperation between the GCC and the European Union, held today in the Duchy of Luxembourg.
